Patreon Donations Doubled!
Just a few months ago, a regular reader of this blog suggested I set up a Patreon account so they could donate and help me out. My financial situation is precarious at best, and my health issues make it pretty much impossible to work, so anything that helps me out in that way is appreciated beyond belief.
I went ahead and set that up (see link to the left!) and I got patrons pretty quickly who were donating at $10 and $20 levels. Just 3 in total, but they were higher pledges so it made an impact on my life right away.
One of those patrons just quintupled their monthly donation from $10 to $50!!!
Wow….!
So of course I have to spread the word and let it be known that an incredibly generous person is really helping me out while I bring this material out publically. They and the other 2 donors are impacting my life in very positive ways.
I have several fans, though few ever comment– unique views per page has been holding steady at around 90-100 in English for a couple of years, and more than double that in Russian (there's a guy who actually translates all of my posts into Russian since auto-translate programs aren't the best). Those numbers are increasing in the last few months as I've pushed myself to finish my story and post some advice along the way.
I hope to continue to work hard on this and other blogs as I go, and also to complete publishable books covering the same material in the weeks and months to come. Patrons just make this more do-able and keep me from procrastinating! Talk about incentive! I'm actually getting paid a little to share my memories and thoughts, and that's not a small thing.

You can do as little as $1 a month and get extra updates on my progress. Higher donations include rewards like art done by me, credit in future publications, and soon audio updates!
Of course if you can't afford it, no worries! I will continue to offer my work on this blog for free (although LiveJournal does have annoying ads…) and that won't change. I know my own choices are limited by finances, so I get it.
