Food Storage Made Easy Binder Review and Giveaway

(Before It's News)

If you’re just getting started in emergency preparedness, I have a book that might help you get going.  Well, actually the cute girls over at Food Storage Made Easy have a book.  I’ve been following their blog for a long time and believe me, these ladies were once beginners just like everyone else.  It wasn’t even that long ago!  And, wanting to decrease the learning curve for the rest of us, and being amazingly talented at organizing, they put together an e-book they call the Food Storage Made Easy Binder.  It looks like this (or a little uglier if I put it together):

Inside the binder are instructions for putting it together–follow the instructions–the binder is super organized if you put it together right.  Inside are 10 “Babysteps” to getting started with your food storage covering the basics on everything from shelving to water, wheat, beans, fruits/veggies, and non-foods.

There are food storage recipes, tips on storing food in small spaces (like the houses we’ve always lived in), and forms and checklists for everything from shopping for food storage to emergency plans to building a 72 hour kit.  Most of the information is somewhere on their blog, but this handy book gets it all together in one place, AND gets you to print it out so you’ll have it available even in an emergency.

It is formatted really nicely and matches the pink/green look of their blog.  You manly folks can print it in grayscale if you don’t want a pink book. ;)

Although the binder covers a lot of topics and has a section devoted to creating an emergency plan, the primary focus is on food storage.  The binder is a perfect starter book for getting prepared and also has some great ideas even the old pros should be able to use.  If you know someone who has shown an interest in getting some food stored, the Food Storage Made Easy Binder also makes a great gift.  And they offer a 30 day money back guarantee just in case you don’t absolutely love it.

To put the binder together you’ll also need:

A set of 5 dividers
Another set of 10 dividers
A binder (1″ is okay if you print on both sides of the paper (which I didn’t) and don’t plan on adding any extra pages (which you easily could as you found more information about beans or water storage or any other food storage topic), otherwise you’ll want something a bit larger)
A 3 hole punch to punch your pages after they’re printed
Enough ink to print the whole thing

That’s it.  It really is easy.

And the sweet gals at Food Storage Made Easy have offered to send one of my lucky readers one of these e-books absolutely free, so we’re having a giveaway!

How To Enter

For anyone who hasn’t done one of my giveaways before, here’s how it works.  You’re welcome to comment on this post, but to be entered you need to fill out the form!

You can get a prize entry for doing each of the following:

1. Subscribe to Food Storage and Survival in a feed reader or by email.  Use the links on the top of the right hand sidebar for this.

2. Subscribe to my email newsletter!  To start, you’ll get the 7 Essential Survival Skills series, and after that I’ll send very sporadic not very often periodic updates and information to help you get better prepared!  It’s on the right sidebar also–gray box under the feed reader links.

3. Put a post on your blog about this giveaway.  Make sure you link over here!

4. “Like” Food Storage and Survival on Facebook.  While you’re at it, you could suggest it to your friends as well.

5. Post a link to this giveaway on Facebook.  To make this easy, you can just “share” the post I put up about it.  You don’t need to “friend” me, I’m taking your word on this one.

6. Share this giveaway through some other means like twitter, email, digg, stumbleupon, or whatever other social networking you use.

Easy enough?  Once you’ve done whatever you want (I really don’t expect everyone to do everything!), fill out the form below to be entered in the prize drawing.  This giveaway will run for one week, ending at 11:59 pm MST on Friday, February17 and the winner will be notified soon after that.  If the winner does not respond within 3 days of notification, I’ll draw a new winner.  Good luck!

If you can’t see the form, go here.
