Missouri artist Ross Young’s work will again be featured on Scott Linden’s Wingshooting USA television series, in new episodes that debut in late June.
id="attachment_73476" class="wp-caption aligncenter" style="width: 610px">South Dakota --( title="AmmoLand Reports" href="http://www.ammoland.com/" target="_self">Ammoland.com)- A segment in Linden’s show titled “Upland Gallery” features paintings by the well-known animal portraitist, showcasing a variety of dog breeds and birds captured at the peak of the action: on point and at the flush.
Young will provide new works for the show’s fourth season, which airs on Pursuit Channel and four other television networks, year-round.
“As far as I can tell, Wingshooting USA is the only show featuring fine art that honors dogs and birds … exposing hundreds of thousands of viewers to Ross’ compelling work,” Linden said.
Ross Young has portrayed champion bird dogs on canvas since 1997. His current work features National Champion Touch’s White Out and will be premiered today at the Hall of Fame induction ceremony in Grand Junction, Tenn. His clients include Nestle Purina, International Paper Company, Iams and national sporting dog organizations. Ross’ work has been published as book covers and on the covers of Gun Dog Magazine, American Field, Grouse Point Almanac, Sporting Tales, Pointing Dog Journal, Sporting Classics, Wildlife Art, Field Trial Magazine, Informart Magazine and U.S. Art Magazine. He has published over 50 limited edition prints, two of which were published by Quail Unlimited and another was the 2002 Waterfowl U.S.A. print of the year.
“Ross is a hunter, and often paints from life, not photographs. This intimate understanding of dogs, birds and the adrenaline rush of the hunt captures each situation’s pent-up energy … you can almost hear the brush rattle and wings whir in his paintings,” Linden added.
The official TV series of the National Shooting Sports Foundation, Wingshooting USA is additionally sponsored by TruckVault, Happy Jack, Cabela’s, Filson, Kent Cartridge, South Dakota tourism, Ugly Dog Hunting Co., and Tri-Tronics.
