We shun the idea of living in such places because we think it represents the bottom rung on the ladder of life. But what if tent cities aaren’t so bad after all? What if they’re actually a solution to a problem?
Granted, they may not be an ideal solution. But could it be a livable alternative to chaos and dictatorship? What if you could get ready for the worst that could happen in America and save lots of money on everyday living expenses at the same time?
Imagine this scenario.
Suppose you lived in a tent within driving distance of your work. Let’s say you have a post office box and get packages at the UPS store. After a while you could bug out as needed and transition to the wild.
Check out this short video about the Dignity community near Portland, OR. Then if you’re interested in knowing more about how a tent city can work, check out the Tent Cities Toolkit. I have no association with this organization. I’m just putting the idea out for your consideration.
