TRENTON, NJ --(Ammoland.com)- Mr. Jerry Natale, Secretary, New Jersey Outdoor Alliance, attended the Marlboro council meeting last night and reported on the proposed ordinance to limit hunting.
Natale stated, “There was about 75 or more sportsmen and women that attended the meeting. Before the meeting started a number of us were addressed and thanked by the representatives of the Division of Fish and Wildlife (DFW). We were then introduced to Jeff Cantor, Marlboro Council President, who apologized for not seeking assistance of the DFW or local sportsmen and women in writing the ordinance.”
Natale continued, “Mr. Cantor said the ordinance was meant to address a safety issue, but he quickly added it would be removed from the council agenda and not be an issue during his term.”
The council president opened the meeting with the announcement that the ordinance would be removed, and a round of applause ensued.
Our thanks goes to Marlboro’s public officials for responding to the concerns of the outdoors community. We also thank all of the dedicated sportsmen and women that called and emailed Marlboro to voice their concerns and educate township officials about the benefits of hunting. Of course, a very special “thank you” goes out to all those who attended the meeting and represented the interests of the outdoors community.
