FEMA Operational Briefing (Solar Storm underway)
The good news today is that the federal recovery operations are stating to stabilize to begin the demobilization process. New Jersey Emergency Operation Center (EOC) has reduce its alert / operational level to a Level III (limited activity) and New York still at a level II, but only has one shelter open and all power has been restored.
Solar weather is beginning to act up, Sunspot AR 1618 is large enough and has the potential to expel a X class flare. The two minor CMEs that have already been expelled are causing us small geomagnetic storm for the 23rd and 24th. Be aware if a X class flare is emitted we will suffer some trouble with telecommunications.
