Comment #1: I usually carry pads and tampons in my first aid kit for puncture wounds and lacerations anyways. And condoms are small, lightweight and can also serve several other functions.
Comment #2: A better option is “the keeper” it is a reusable silicone menstrual cup. Its tiny and can fit in a pocket so it doesn’t take up space like those bulky disposables.
Comment #3: Baby wipes. They are a blessing when camping with girls. I have 2 daughters. Baby wipes have done the trick in several instances.
Comment #4: Feminine hygiene products command a high barter value, when they become scarce. They’re among my most popular items, when I go camping (I’m usually the guy who stockpiled the stuff everyone else forgets). The only thing more sought-after was oral hygiene products. Even in a non-emergency situation, have you ever seen such products go down in retail value? Decent investment, even if you never personally use the products, IMO.
Comment #5: All the flight medics and crew chiefs that were in my Medevac unit carried tampons in our bugout bags. Great immediate bandages for gunshot wounds.
