(Before It's News)

We posted on our Facebook page:

Kerstin Kruse Liberty asked below: “I’m curious-is there an easy to get ‘field guide’ or website to get ham radios started? We’d like to do this but don’t even know where to begin.”
Some comments we received:

Comment #1: The ARRL – the National Association for Amateur Radio is a great resource for ham radio information. Arrl has been around for a long time helping people get into amateur radio.

Comment #2: See if your area has a local ham radio club, they usually love get new people started in the right direction,

Comment #3: Our local club guided us through getting started and studying for and taking the exam. The ARRL website can point you in the direction fo your local club.

Comment #4: The technician license is really pretty easy to pass. I think the hardest part is selecting equipment. HAM operators and their gear out-geek the guys who hot rod their computers, and most of them are rigid in that they are right and anyone else is wrong.
