Washington DC - -(Ammoland.com)- Bob Costas’ gun control rant was bad but made worse by one key point — he lives much of his life with the benefit of armed security. (i.e., men with guns).

If you’ve ever been to an NFL game this point is academic. The number of armed policemen you pass between the gate your seat is incredible. And if you get behind the scenes, in certain corridors, the armed presence can be just as strong (or stronger).

Those policeman and security personnel are there to preserve order and to protect their assets, be they football players, football coaches, or the celebrities and news anchors in attendance.

In this, Costas is much like other elitists who’ve recklessly criticized guns in past, all the while living behind a wall of guns for the benefits it brings.

Remember when Rosie O’Donnell spent what seemed like years on her gun rants? Those rants lost their effectiveness when the focus turned to her security detail. The same with Michael Moore, and the same with the plethora of politicians, like Sens Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) and John Kerry (D-MA) or NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

They all rage against guns in the name of safety, while seeming quite happy in the safety that comes from living life behind layer after layer of armed protection.

The bottom line: It seems to me that when Costas went on his rant against guns he showed himself to be a hypocrite of the highest order. And in so doing, he joined ranks with O’Donnell, Moore, Bloomberg and numerous other elitists who live by the standard of “do as I say, not as I do.”
