When we talk about the skills of survivals, we mostly think of building a shelter with wood and also cooking on a stove made from wood. These skills involve physical work and are important. However the most important type of survival skill are not physical ones but rather are related to the innermost personal skills of the individual.
The foremost skill is the ability of observation. How you observe your environment will decide your future strategies of life. You have to realize that watching and observing are two different things. Watching is simply seeing things, but observation means analyzing your surroundings in a way to pick different points from them. This skill enhances your ability to take appropriate decisions according to the need of the situation in the best possible manner. To take control over this skill, you have to make your senses very strong. Once your senses are sharp, you can defend and save yourself from any kind of danger. You can also figure out available but hidden , and can analyze them in a better way.
Another skill, which is very essential to have for a survival lifestyle, is multi tasking. While this particular skill comes more easily to women, men have to work a bit harder to develop this. You have to be skillful in dealing with situations where you have to do or perform more than one function at the same time. The main task in such a life is to identify which type of jobs have to be done together. For instance, when you are hunting, you need to also collect edible plant items and medicinal herbs at the same time. Also you need to remember other natural resources coming in your way for future usage.
Now comes the skill which gives you the power to manage things, and this skill is the ability to set priorities. This is the skill, which drives your life in the right direction and helps you gain expertise in other skills as well. Along with the skill in setting priorities is the ability and survival skill of assessment. A person needs to assess his situation in order to find out the problems prevailing and the coming opportunities. The assessment skill enhances with time, research, observation and experience.
All the above said skills make a person eligible to spend a life of a survival. Their test begins when these skills have to be applied in reality. There is no value of mere knowledge until and unless you have used that knowledge to perform some practical work. These skills help a person to prepare for every kind of condition.
