Shocking attacks on school children in China and USA demand Action!

Sacramento, California --(Ammoland.com)- For starters, Make-Believe Gun-Free Zones must be abolished.

The right to bear arms with normal capacity magazines is part of the solution.

Last week millions of American open and concealed carriers joined the world in shock when young elementary school children were violently attacked in their classrooms.

First in central China, “a man slashed 22 children and one adult with a knife . . . Authorities across China have ordered stepped-up security at schools and increased police patrols near campuses after a wave of knife attacks targeting children.”

Soon after the knife-attack mayhem in China, another man in Newtown Connecticut killed 20 elementary school children and 6 adults.

Outrage is an understatement. So what must be done?
This sort of evil threat is not going to go away, even if all guns are banned as they already are in China. “

“Mentally insane people will continue to attack others for no reason at all,” says John Pierce, co-founder of OpenCarry.org, “and the only way to stop them, is to stop them.”

The pattern is obvious – these crazed individuals consistently tend to stalk their victims in make- believe gun-free zones such as K-12 schools, college campuses, shopping malls, and movie theaters where potential victims have been disarmed by way of law (schools and colleges) or private proprietors ’rules.

A big part of the solution to this threat is to dismantle the network of make-believe gun-free zones that attract and assist the sick people who attack the defenseless. A real gun-free zone exists only where armed men and woman secure the premises and screen all entrants.

“Unless states and localities are prepared to physically garrison and guard K-12 schools, colleges, and other places where the law forbids the law-abiding from carrying their sidearms, then ‘aspirational policy’ must yield to common sense” says Pierce. “Let people carry guns there just like they do pretty much everywhere else in America.”

But that’s just for starters – states and localities need to do much more to identify and treat the mentally ill among us. And yes – all states should share mental health adjudication records with the federal National Instant Check System (NICS). Shame on those states who do not do this.

“What needs to happen now,” says Pierce, “is for Americans to roll up their sleeves and apply logic to protect our children.”

And that does not mean banning certain rifles just because they have cosmetically scary features – distinctions without a difference - or forcing the law abiding to use restricted capacity magazines(*2) when forced to defend themselves and others against criminals and madmen.

Carry on!

*2 Semi-automatic handguns and long guns are the most popular modern firearms in America and have been some for some years; their magazines normally range in capacity from 11 to 30 rounds.
