Yesterday I had the pleasure to shoot emails back and forth with a reader who had stumbled upon my Bugout Bag article. He wanted to share information related to a a bag which I didn’t mention, a bag which he had personal experience with and whole heartily recommended. I asked him if he wouldn’t mind writing up a nice review which I could share with you all and he agreed (look for it in a few weeks). If you have something you would like to share, whether it be a gear review or personal prepping experience please don’t hesitate to contact me and we’ll see if there is a way to get it out to all the readers.

Prepper Deals out on the Internet:
I was watching an episode of Survivorman last night. Les made a great comment while trekking through the desert: “It isn’t the sun that will get you, it’s the grain of sand in your boot.” Your feet are such a HUGE consideration while on the move, I cannot stress this enough. You need good socks and boots. I would rather have $300 in socks and boots and a $50 backpack versus the other way around. That said Ranger Joe’s is having a buy 2 get 1 free sale on Wigwam socks.
I love Cargo field pants, check these out available at the Bargain Cave over at Cabelas for $19.
Current events and opinion:
IRS struggling to tackle massive surge in identity theft
PJ: Unfortunately many people find this out after the try to file their taxes, and the IRS sends them a notice that they have already been filed. I was a victim of ID theft about 10 years ago and it is not fun. The case was so ridiculous and improbable it should have been open and shut but guess what….the creditors did not care and went after me for a few years on those accounts. My credit took about 5 years to recover, all because someone half a world away got a hold of my information and opened up a few accounts in my name.
Questions surround $55 million program to cut violence in Chicago
PJ: A ridiculous waste of taxpayer money. Want to curb violence? Legalize concealed carry in Chi-town.
Everyone’s talking about “Stand your ground” laws, but it’s time to talk about guns, too.
PJ: Let me be clear that I am an advocate for gun rights, concealed carry and the 2nd Amendment (as a card carrying member of the NRA). I’m not familiar with the entire case presented here and hate to see anyone get killed innocently. I would only like to address the author’s last line: ”As innocent and unarmed black youths continue to meet violent ends at the hands of white assailants, perhaps the closest Americans can come to a colorblind resolution is to agree on one simple fact: Guns certainly do kill.”
If guns kill, then we should put the gun on trial and if found guilty…the gun should be sentenced to jail. Right? Or maybe if the suspect will go on trial and if found guilty face the consequences of his actions? Cars don’t kill people, their drivers do. Spoons don’t make people fat, the user who is shoving the ice cream down their neck does. While this story certainly took a tragic turn I find it ironic that we hardly EVER see stories where guns are used to defend people or save lives.
Why Does The Federal Government Subsidize Retirement?
PJ: This really is a great article, many people today assume the way of life as we know it has been around forever and will simply continue on forever. Nothing could be further from the truth.
Staten Island Sandy Victims Need to Realize That Obama Fixed Everything, Not Be Ungrateful
PJ: Regardless of what you think of Rush this is a good read, in that the lesson remains: if your only course of action is to depend on someone else and wait for help to arrive…you could be waiting for quite some time.
