How ironic that yesterday I posted about the sad state of human apathy and moral decline that we are facing as a nation. I don’t even know where to begin or how to frame my thoughts concerning the tragedy that unfolded before my eyes yesterday on television. While there have been many tragic events in the last few years, none have captured my attention like what happened Newtown, CT since the events of Sept 11, 2001. The feeling I got in the pit of my stomach, almost sick with a combination of frustration and helplessness for all of those involved. Those poor kids and obviously the adults that lost their lives, none of them stood a chance. I type this with a heavy heart and I do mean every word when I say my thoughts and prayers go out to those involved, I hope that somehow they will be able to find peace at some point.
Of course the media has wasted no time in politicizing this, calling for more gun control measures to be implemented If you’ve spent any time on my site you know exactly how I feel with respect to that argument. Many people are asking why, how could this happen? Why does a wolf attack a flock of sheep that isn’t protected by a sheep dog? Had their been a sheep dog there yesterday, in the form of armed security or even trained/armed administrators this tragedy might have been averted. That’s about as far as I’ll go with it (the gun control debate) as I’m sure we will be inundated by it here for the next few weeks.

Prepper Deals out on the Internet:
If you have been procrastinating buying up another few boxes of bulk ammo, stop doing so and purchase while you still can. I’ve found some great deals on bulkammo.com.
Costco is really starting to expand on their emergency survival items. This just in, food buckets for your dog with a 15 year shelf life. Not bad at $49.99 each.
Current events and opinion:
Why Central Banks Can’t Let Up on Stimulus
PJ: The article says it best, it’s like creating the world’s second largest economy out of thin air.
The 2 million unemployed who may hit fiscal cliff
PJ: So what happens with those benefits dry up? How will they afford the basic necessities of life?
White House Responds To School Massacre: “Obama remains committed to trying to renew a ban on assault weapons”
PJ: This will go one of two ways. Either something is interjected into the proposal/law as part of a fiscal cliff bargaining chip, or immediately after that crisis is averted is gets used during the debt ceiling debates. Look for some sort of new regulations with respect to gun control in the near future.
$441 in survival gear will get you through the Mayan Apocalypse
PJ: Clueless, that’s all I have to say. No water purification device, no food, instead a bunch of trinkets dedicated to keeping smartphones running? Hilarious at best.
5 Ways to Start Storing Water
PJ: Like I always say water is crucial to any survival plan. Great article over on Peak Prosperity.
