Over the last week of so I have had some serious “writers block”. Having trouble getting any creative juices flowing (all right – no comments needed on that one!). Figured I would write some on whats been going on in my life. Something I do not often do.
BUSY! Too much so. Running several websites, doing Crossfit, having a family- I have bitten off more than I can comfortably chew. Spread thin – I will be making some changes effective January 1st. Over the Christmas Holiday I have some decent time off and will be making quite a few changes. I am going to be implementing some things to streamline ModernSurvivalOnline as well as my other sites – BestPreparednessDeals.com and SeasonedCitizenPrepper.com.
I recently turned 43 years old. No mid-life crisis but I have been certainly looking at things a bit different – more a long the lines of what is most important in my life. Family of course ranks right up there as #1. This is one of the reasons I need to streamline things on my websites. I have 9 and 13 year old sons. I need to spend more time with them. My wife? Well, she’s lucky to have me, right?
I have never been a church-going person. When I was a teenager I was a member of a church in Greensboro, NC. I liked it. I moved away and never regained that connection. Over the past month I have been attending a relatively new church in my area and really, really like it. It seems to be a very special place. Over the past several years I have felt a void in my life. I think that to fill that void – I need a greater connection to God. It’s happening and I am glad. It is also important for my kids as well.
Like many others finances could be improved. I make a decent living - but I am for the most part the only breadwinner. I make a little money on my websites – but certainly nothing changing my life. Reducing debt and increasing income – well, certainly not an easy thing to do – especially in this inflationary economy.
I continue to do Crossfit on a regular basis. I continue to amaze myself sometimes at what I am able to do. The constant improvement is rewarding. My following a Paleo diet has fallen to the wayside these last few weeks. After Christmas will start getting more strict again.
Here is a short video of myself doing a rope climb without using my legs. Never thought I would be able to do this.
I continue to prep. Food, ammunition, knives, extra magazines, cooking stuff, etc. I am hoping to take some tactical training soon at a school a couple hours from my home.
Well – getting late and need to get some sleep. Early bird gets the worm.
Take care all -
Rourke
