FEMA Operational Briefing (April 8, 2013)
Today’s FEMA Operational Report dives into details some of the federal responses due to the Terrorist attack in Boston. We all must all remember that this is a active and fluid investigation. Evidence and searches are being conducted, so what the public is hearing and what information is being released is very controlled and limited.
This does not mean it is a conspiracy! What it does mean is that Law Enforcement Agents, both local and Federal are actively working on this case. Information is being reserved in order to present reliable facts to the legal process in order to gain a conviction. This is a basic investigation tool and is practiced hundreds of times across the US. This does not mean that every police department in America is corrupt or conspiring to place you in any camps. They are doing their job. Once these terrorist are brought to justice, then all the facts will come out and we can pick it apart for years to come.
Right now we must focus on the fact that a terrorist, weather home grown, international or lone wolf, has found a weakness in America security. It has costs the lives of three Americans. The Law Enforcement community will react to this with more security measures.
What we have to do now is take a look at our family security plans. What are our weak points to our Security Preparedness Plan? Do we frequent large gathering places, Public events, etc. Terrorist can attack anywhere, so we must make sure that our family emergency plans address this fact. We must be prepared when we are in public or attending large gathering to react to terrorist attacks; our situational awareness must be heightened.
In other preparedness news, Major Flooding is being reported north of Chicago. This is due to the spring weather and the rain storms that have been in the area. This flooding will make its way down the Mississippi River.
A earthquake occurred in Oklahoma, on April 16, 2013 at 3:17am EDT. A M4.3 was reported 6 miles east of Luther, OK. No damage or injuries have been reported.
