What to do when confronted by a mass attacker This past week, I was reading John Forsythe’s Fight Flight or Hide: The Guide to Surviving a Mass Shooting, when I heard the news about the knife attack in a nearby college campus
Although it was not a mass shooting, it was a random attack that affected 14 people, and from reading the book, I noticed a lot of parallels. I thought this would be a good time to do a quick review, as it is a timely subject.
Fight Flight or Hide: The Guide to Surviving a Mass Shooting is an e-book that you can read very quickly. Although it’s a quick read, there is no shortage in knowledge to be gained that could potentially save your life, or someone else, if you are ever in such as situation. Although the media normally sensationalizes and terrifies people when reporting about such events, the author does a good job of stepping back and pointing out facts to make you think rationally and not fatally accept that you’ll die if you are in a mass shooting situation. He shows three potential roles – victim, guardian or hero – you may find yourself in an attack, and the best way to survive.
Whether you are pro-gun rights or not, this book is useful in getting you to think about possible scenarios, and the tips given are practical and applicable regardless of your views.
The book is available for $3.99 on Amazon Kindle. Remember you do not need a Kindle device to be able to read e-books, you can download it to your computer or smart phone.
Take care and have a great week everyone!
