Welcome back to the God and Guns Podcast. I’m your host, Mike, and on this show we talk about God, guns, and the responsible Christian gun owners interests.

Brian says: Hi from Arkansas. Love the show guys. I’ve been a gun owner and a Christian most of my life and I’m glad to see that someone stepped up to do a show like this. Ya’ll have been an inspiration for me to start reading my bible again and actually study the Word instead of just reading it. Anyway, I thought I would share my wish list with you guys. The AR-15 podcast inspired me to build my first AR, so most of this list is parts to finish it up.

Since we were established as a Republic I have always had the belief that the highest level of government in America is the Constitution. Since we were established as a Republic then the Government is what is restricted by the constitution, and it provides very clear terms of how to deal with laws and politicians who violate the constitution. We are not obligated to follow those unconstitutional laws through federalism nullification. The politicians also should be removed from office. Therefore I felt justified in taking a stand against leaders that were not following the constitution and common law.
The problem I have been wrestling with is; am I fighting for my physical life at the expense of my eternal life (Luke 17:33). I admit I have been prepping and training for the obvious economic and possible social collapse looming in our near future. History is replete with examples of what happens when countries start using fiat currency (Proverbs 20:10). What I found is that there is never enough preparation you can make for every calamity you can imagine whether it is economic, acts of God, government tyranny, or social unrest (Luke 12:18-21). As Christians it all points back to we have to ultimately put our faith in God alone. Jesus’ focus on the apostles was to get them to quit worrying about their flesh and this world but focus on the spirit and eternal life (Like 12:22-34).
I am concerned that I’ve trusted too much in my own abilities and resources and not putting my faith in God alone to meet every provision. Jesus said if we love the world we are not his (1 John 2:15-17). The more I read the bible and know the heart of Christ, the more I think I should sell all and give to the poor and trust God for my every need (Matt 19:21-30). As American Christians we are all rich young rulers, as we put our faith in our Constitution, heritage, families, and finances. I fear that most professing Christians really do not possess the faith required to truly be called His.

First of all I want to say thanks for putting on the podcast, it really is awesome idea and a great way to spread the word. I went through it with some other men from my church and hope to do it again with my youth group. Well hope this helps on part 2, I am looking forward to hearing it. Weekly Bible Verse: James 2:1-13
My brothers and sisters, believers in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ must not show favoritism. 2 Suppose a man comes into your meeting wearing a gold ring and fine clothes, and a poor man in filthy old clothes also comes in. 3 If you show special attention to the man wearing fine clothes and say, “Here’s a good seat for you,” but say to the poor man, “You stand there” or “Sit on the floor by my feet,” 4 have you not discriminated among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts?
5 Listen, my dear brothers and sisters: Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him? 6 But you have dishonored the poor. Is it not the rich who are exploiting you? Are they not the ones who are dragging you into court? 7 Are they not the ones who are blaspheming the noble name of him to whom you belong?
8 If you really keep the royal law found in Scripture, “Love your neighbor as yourself,” you are doing right. 9 But if you show favoritism, you sin and are convicted by the law as lawbreakers. 10 For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it. 11 For he who said, “You shall not commit adultery, also said, “You shall not murder.” If you do not commit adultery but do commit murder, you have become a lawbreaker.
12 Speak and act as those who are going to be judged by the law that gives freedom, 13 because judgment without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been merciful. Mercy triumphs over judgment.

I first wanted to say that I think you guys are still doing a great job with the podcast. I work in data entry, and enjoy listening to all the podcasts on the FRN to make the day go by a little quicker. After listening to episode 17 where you asked about interesting firearms that you could share on the show, I decided to show you my “baby”, the VZ 61. I’ll save you some work and give you the high points for the history behind this firearm.
The firearm was designed by Miroslav Rybář (sorry, I have no idea how to pronounce it correctly, I’ll let you figure it out) during 1957-1958, with the first samples being produced in 1959. Military testing of these samples occurred in 1961, and after being accepted, the firearm was given the designation of Samopal vzor 61 (“submachine gun model 1961″) or SA Vz 61 with a total of 210,000 being produced(Czechpointusa). Although it was developed for use with security forces and special forces, the weapon was also accepted into service with the Czechoslovak Army, as a personal sidearm for lower-ranking army staff, vehicle drivers, armored vehicle personnel and special forces. Currently the weapon is in use with the armed forces of several countries as a sidearm (Wikipedia).
Now for the guts of the gun. The Vz 61 is chambered for the 7.65 Browning (European designation of what we know as the .32 ACP) and features a 20 round magazine located forward of the trigger which locks the bolt to the rear when empty. The gun fires from a closed bolt position, and uses a blowback design to eject the empty cases out the top. The weapon is charged with a pair of cocking knobs located on either side of the gun, and uses a safety lever located on the left rear portion of the gun. Designed with full auto capacity, the VZ 61 is capable of firing 350 round per minute and uses a folding wire stock and rate reducer to manage recoil. The gun is designed with a lower and upper receiver, which pivots for cleaning in a manner similar to an AR-15.
I purchased my Vz 61 (also known as the Skorpion) as a demilitarized parts kit and put it together with a new Czech manufactured receiver. In order to comply with NFA laws, the trigger was modified to allow semi auto fire only, and the wire stock could not be attached. At some point I plan on registering the gun as a SBR so that I can add the stock back on, but even without the stock and select fire capability, this gun is a blast to shoot. While the .32 ACP is considered underpowered by many people these days, it is a perfect choice for this design. The light recoil makes it easy to control, and when using a second hand on the magazine, the recoil is almost nonexistent.
