Quality Deer Management Association 2013 National Convention
BOGART, Ga. --(Ammoland.com)- The Quality Deer Management Association (QDMA) is pleased to announce the recipients of its 2013 Conservation and Branch Achievement awards.
The honorees were first unveiled at the 2013 QDMA National Convention in Athens, Georgia, July 18-21.
Each year, QDMA accepts nominations for its Conservation awards, and it honors a number of people and groups for achievements in whitetail conservation and management. The Branch Achievement awards recognize outstanding volunteers who have achieved success at a very high level.
2013 QDMA Conservation Awards:
- Joe Hamilton Lifetime Achievement Award: Robert Manning of South Carolina
- Al Brothers Deer Manager of the Year: Chip Vosburg of Louisiana
- Al Brothers Professional Deer Manager of the Year: Dr. Craig Harper, professor and Extension Wildlife Specialist at the University of Tennessee
- Agency of the Year: Nebraska Game & Parks Commission
- Corporate Achievement Award: Plum Creek, a 10-year QDMA Corporate Sponsor
- Signpost Communicator of the Year: Scott Bestul of Field & Stream’s Whitetail 365 Blog
- Hunting Heritage Award – Individual: Marion Burnside of South Carolina
- Hunting Heritage Award – Corporate: MidwayUSA, Inc., retailer and wholesaler of hunting and shooting related products
- Rack Pack Four-Point Award (2): Hunter Pruitt of Georgia, Ally Wright of Florida
2013 QDMA Branch Achievement Awards:
- Branch of the Year: Tip of the Mitt Branch of Michigan
- Branch President of the Year: Chase Burns of the West Central Illinois Branch
- Volunteer of the Year: Rick Watts of the Mason-Dixon Branch in Pennsylvania
- Event of the Year: The Military Youth Hunt organized by the Derby City Branch of Kentucky
- Sponsor Membership Branch of the Year: Mid-Carolina Branch of South Carolina
- Membership Branch of the Year: Central Louisiana Branch
- New Branch of the Year: Greater Rochester Southern Tier Branch of New York
