Joel Dodge asks: “It was about the size of a golf ball. I live in SE WI and I have never seen one before. Now I see them all over. The insides look like custard. (Didn’t check to see if they tasted like it though). Any idea what it is? My brother has declared open season on them.”

Comment #3: Shining Leaf Chafer’s are very beautiful beetles. I always thought they looked like wood paneling!
Comment #4: I know its a scarab, and no don’t taste the insides. Some scarabs eat the feces of animals. But I do not not know what type it is.
