Let’s say you’re in the woods and suddenly realize you’re lost. What are some things you can do to relax yourself to avoid panic?

Comment #3: find a near by stream and fallow it down!!!it will come out to a river
Comment #4: Proper preparation is necessary to avoid getting lost. Consult your map/compass/GPS. Hopefully you made note of where you started and try to backtrack your route. If you lack a compass or a GPS….why are you in the woods?
Comment #5: 10 deep breaths, locate whatever land nav stuff you have (hopefully a map, compass & binoculars at least), then look around to find any distinguishing land formations or structures. If you don’t have a compass and since you’re in the woods, look at the trees to see which side has more branches or heavier foliage (will give you a rough South).
