If like millions of other households, you only use borax for laundry etc. this is a shame and it is almost as criminal as only using baking soda for making cakes (if you do only use it for baking cakes, see: 75 Uses for Baking Soda).
One of the best alternative uses for borax is pest control, borax is incredibly effective at killing ants and cockroaches, just mix it 50/50 with sugar and put some where you have seen ants/cockroaches. They eat the borax/sugar mixture and then die. Much simpler and cheaper than purchasing nasty insecticides… Check out the other 29 uses for borax below.
