So you plan on hunting when SHTF? Guess what? That is probably not a very good primary option. The odds are stacked against you. In fact, people will quickly realize that hunting wild game is not the answer to their growling bellies. They will quickly turn to the farms and ranches as a source of “easy” to obtain food. What can farmers and ranchers do? Check out this video for some options:

Yawn. Yes everyone knows the city ppl will head Bush.. for food. Bust is an Aussie term for heading bush, living off the land..
And I’ll be sitting pretty back in the newly abandoned city with my preps, safe and sound. feelsgoodman
WE’RE ALL GOING TO BE HUNTING FOR FOOD BEFORE TOO MUCH LONGER. YOU WITH ALL YOUR PREPARATION FOODS MAY JUST HAVE THEM CONFISCATED. SO DON’T BE SO SMUG.
The bison was not hunted to near extinction, it was wiped out for sport, for the most part, wasted, rotting in the sun as the great white hunter shot them from moving trains or horseback.
I have lived in rural America that I forgot people are actually dependent on grocery stores and monsanto industrial “farmers.” The people that are better off are those that are not dependent on ANY outside source, those that grow their own food. To bad for you city rats.
too much hunting will result in extinction of wild animals. better to raise as much of your live stock as you can. in the ozarks, deer were nearly hunted to extinction during the depression. now with a larger population, it could happen again. when the wild animals are gone, ppl will starve. so if you can, prepare now.
The Bison was not hunted to extinction for sport either, millions of Bison where killed and let go to waste solely for the purpose of destroying the primary food source of the plains indians. Making it impossible for them to effectively combat the white invasion.
It was an atrocity.
That’s right city slickers, not worth your effort, may as well not even try.
Just hold up in your cities and wait for FEMA to come and rescue you. Ain’t no food in them dark, cold, scary woods anyways. They just full of goblins and bugaboos. You’ll starve out there.
Don’t even try.
There won’t be anyplace you can run or hide from what’s coming. City, country, doesn’t matter. If you have food or any other resource, you’re toast. If you’re going to try and live off the land, use a BB gun and hunt small game. STAY MOBILE AND UNDETECTED. Start shooting big game with a high powered rifle and you become a target. Does anyone here REALLY know how much work it is to dress out a large animal? It takes a few hours MINIMUM. And during that time, you are a sitting duck.
All I can say is, that people shouldn’t be so smug and confident about their preps and hunting ability. During the civil war, the white tailed deer nearly went extinct within the first 1.5 years of the war. That was about 151 years ago and there were millions LESS people in America than now. Imagine hunting today in a post-collapse America? You won’t find it being yourself and maybe 1-4 other hunters alone in a large woods. And you WON’T find the other hunters you meet as amicable and friendly as in the past. In this case, you are pitting yourself in the game of basic survival. People won’t be hunting because they enjoy the sport and want a little extra meat, they’ll be hunting to just exist. This means that ANY other human being in the same proximity that they are is a threat to their family’s very existence.
After awhile, if order ISN’T restored into society, the ONLY food that will be left is longpig.
