Meh, was taught totally different ways. But it works and all that matters.
For the rookies, the more you do it, the easier and more efficient you’ll get at it. Then you’ll develop speed.
But the guys right, you don’t need all that fancy equipment to quarter and butcher a animal. Just quality sharp blades and the know how and you’re good.
However I can’t stress this enough, don’t go cheap on blades!
I have never hunted with my family, and never had an interest in learning this info until more recently. Only halfway through right now, but it is a really informative video. Thank you
did my first one when I was twelve ,now at sixty three I have a lot of dressing and butchering under my belt . I agree that sharp knives are a real asset. And you sure do not need any fancy equipment ,I am a professional chef and if anything I stress good knives and sharp knives ,and get that skin off the deer as soon as possible. I first learned how to butcher a deer from an article in outdoor life called deer in a dishpan . again you don’t need anything fancy!
Great video. I liked that he did it indoors for demonstration purposes. I also liked that he did not have to cut a lot of bone.
