If you are here, you are either looking for motivation or you have decided to go public with your 2014 healthy goals. Either way, it is a step toward the healthy life you want to have! So here we are proclaiming what we really want for ourselves. These are our clear goals. If we know where we are going, and we know that we are here for each other to help us stay the course, we can surely find success!
Welcome to the Fat2FitHQ podcast. I’m your host, Carol Salva of the Firearms Radio Network. In this podcast we are chronicling our journeys from Fat to Fit. We talk about pursuing a healthier lifestyle not only in diet, but in all areas of life.
This week we are a panel of three FABULOUS females to help you get 2014 off to the BEST start:
Carol Salva: I’m a mom of 3, a teacher and a health obsessed individual who hasn’t really figured out how to enjoyably maintain a goal weight.
.
Shari Jones: I am a proud (and single) mother of three boys, Thomas (deceased), Davis (14) and Liam (11). I work as an instructional coach at a middle school campus and love my career!
.
.
Caroline Miner: A health professional, mother of 20 and 17 year old sons, married 22 years.Always learning and trying to better myself.
.
THANK YOU Firearms Radio Network for sponsoring the bandwidth of this show!
TOPIC:
Going public with our 2014 Healthy Goals.
Carol: I want to drop a jeans size and keep it off. (Truth be told I want to drop 2 jeans sizes) And I want to see 120lbs again for more than a milisecond.
Shari: I want to get to a size 6 – comfortable and not squeezed in. I also want to compete in at least 2 major fitness events (Tough Mudder – Yikes!) and The Beach-to-Bay Relay.
Caroline: My specific goal is to BUILD. I have a good foundation but I need to build upon it and see some significant changes.

2014 GOALS FROM THE LISTENERS: (HOORAY FOR ALL OF YOU!!!)
Chad Danielson from The Competative Shooting Podcast: He wants to build endurance because you know it has a direct correlation to your competitive shooting (ie: getting farther through a string of shots before breathing and physical drain become an issue.)
Gina from Myfitnesspal: My goal is to lose another 25 pounds. I lost 25 this year but need another 25 to make my goal weight. Looking forward to a productive & successful 2014.
TOM NORKUS: I recently got engaged and want to be below 250 for the wedding in Fall 2014.
STACEY KNICKERBOCKER: I want to lose just 5 1/2 more pounds to get back to a goal weight I know I can maintain… and then maintain it!
RAE: I want to eat healthful foods, feel great and if I can get back to a size 8 that’s a bonus for me!
RUNNINGMOMMA (MFP & Fitbit): I only have one set goal for 2014 and that is to complete my own personal marathon.
AARON: My goal for 2014 is to maintain my goal weight while building muscle and losing another inch or two around my waist.
JAMEY: My main goal for 2014 that’s fitness/health related is to reduce my running mileage while focusing on getting faster at my 5k and 10k distance. I’m also trying to do more weights. And most importantly, I’m going to try to focus on self acceptance and quit feeling like I have to lose 5 more lbs always. I think that goes under mental health.
LARRY SUTTON: 33 pounds to go when i get there is when i am nervous maintaining! (see feedback below)
BRIAN: My goal for 2014 is simple. I just want my friends to look at me and say “dude is dedicated” instead of saying “fatty failed yet again”. That is all.
All of you guys are awesome! I am so proud to be setting goals with you and so excited that we are going to do this together! You’re each so inspiring. Please keep up the great work and we will surely have a successful 2014! – Carol

FEEDBACK:
Andrew Delvard: I have this condition called Lupus. It’s very inflammatory and quite serious but since changing my diet to a low carb paleo style I have seen a radical shift. I have been almost 100% stable and well it’s given me hope and a new lease of life. Almost a new beginning. So I’m quite fundamental about all this lol and I’m always looking for ways to fine tune and enhance things. I’ve really investigated the juicing thing and it at least gives me options & well…interest. I am so grateful to the community and fat2fit for the life enhancing chances it’s given me. The anti inflammatory response is definite in my experience. `I thought it was appropriate I tell you this as feedback is good and it’s contributed and supported me in difficult times so thank you
Larry Sutton: My wife and i were young and she worked at that fast food resterant that everyone critisises for making us all fat. she would just grab dinner before she came home. she was a manager there so her food was free and mine was half price so we thought we were saving money. we probably were but we ended up way behind in the end. she left there and went to work another place. a miscarriage inspired us to decide to get healthy. she lost 70lbs and had our son. i lost 100lbs and was in great shape which i maintained until i hurt my shoulder a couple years ago. slowly the weight came back on until she found she gained 50 back and i gained almost 80. This time we no longer have endless hours to spend in the gym and we need to eat things as a family that a 3 year old picky eater has decides are acceptable to him and we feel that are healthy choices. The weight is coming off and i am within 33 pounds of my goal now but find that mfp and the people and forum community have helped me pass a holiday hump. I started listening to your show a couple months ago after hearing everyone on frn talking about you and your show. I think Zack is waiting for you to get tough and just kick him in the ass.
I don’t have a fitbit and am unsure whether i even want 1 i think too much tracking would be bad for me as i am competitive. I am using the runkeeper app on my iphone after completing the couch to 5k a few weeks ago.
Good luck and keep the good shows coming.
