MALTA, Mont. --(Ammoland.com)- Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks (FWP) will honor the service of its west-central Montana Hunter and Bowhunter Education volunteer instructors at a workshop and awards luncheon at Lolo Creek Steakhouse on Saturday, Feb. 22.
These volunteers help shape the future of hunting in Montana by providing prospective hunters with training in safety, ethics, conservation, and the handling of firearms and archery equipment. In west-central Montana alone, approximately 150 volunteers instruct nearly 2,000 students each year.
Instructors with 20 years or more of service include: John Benda of Superior (20), Neil Maier of Frenchtown (20), Robert Culp of Frenchtown (30), Gordon Pierson of Deer Lodge (30), Ed Zuleger of Clinton (30), and Verne Shreve of Florence (35).
