I am pretty experienced at growing my own fruit and vegetables, but even I was thinking ‘what on earth are cucamellons?’… Basically they seem to be a variety of tiny melon/cucumber, that tastes like cucumber but with a hint of lime. I have to thank ‘Homegrown Revolution’ for bring cucamelons to my attention.
I love growing new stuff, actually sometimes it is my downfall, as rather than sticking with tried and tested, I want to try different varieties. That said, these cucamelons are supposed to be very easy to grow and they can be grown in a greenhouse or planted outdoors (once the threat of frost has passed), so I am going to give them a shot this year. If you want to give them a shot, head over to ‘Homegrown Revolution’ on the link below and check out their growing tutorial and recipes.
