In today’s tough economic times putting together a bug out bag can be an expensive proposition. To help, we put together a bunch of inexpensive (we didn’t say cheap) gear. We didn’t stop there, we then took the gear on a 72 hour/60 mile simulated bug out. The fans over at the Tin Hat Ranch Facebook page voted for this to be a series, so here is part one of how the gear fared, what we did, and why we did it.

Where are you bugging out to?
Nowhere in particular, it was just a test to put some miles on the gear and see what happens. The third day was a nice 45 degree rain.
