Used to live in the mountains of southern Colorado, I carried everywhere I went up there. I never saw a Coyote, but I did see tracks along with bear and mountain lion. We didn’t have a garbage service and had to either bury it or store it until we had enough to take it the landfill. The critters including bear would get into it from time to time…Not sure what caliber the 26 is but I always carried a Model 20 (10mm) Just bought a model #29 (10mm) for concealed carry. Nice…Can’t wait to get back there !!
