EC Prepcon IV
Millions of people around the world are adversely affected by catastrophes like Hurricane Sandy, the Ebola Outbreak, Armed Conflict, Social and Political Unrest, Terrorist Attacks, Famine, and Financial Crises. Millions of others watch these catastrophes from afar and know that something isn’t right. Is there an answer for the uncertain times were living in? If these things affected the normal function of society where you live, would you survive?
Beginning around the year 2000, Jay Blevins and Ryan McCullough of SEPS LLC noticed these things as well. They began preparing at different times for different reasons, and met over four years ago with a shared passion for survival and preparedness. Jay focuses on the foundational aspects of preparedness (found in his book, Survival and Emergency Preparedness Skills-which is where the acronym SEPS comes from) while Ryan concentrates on the financial considerations.
Two years ago, in order to share their passion with others, and help people reach their preparedness goals, they started a company called SEPS LLC (www.sepsllc.com) which is a full service emergency preparedness consulting firm located in Northern Virginia near Washington, DC. One of the major services SEPS provides is a preparedness convention that has become the premiere survival and preparedness show on the East Coast, called East Coast Preparedness Convention, or EC PREPCON. EC PREPCON IV will be held May 29-31 in Winchester, VA, at the large venue/sportsplex run by Body Renew Fitness right off I-81 in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley.
EC PREPCON IV is a three day expo and convention with national sponsors where attendees can participate in presentations and classes, purchase goods from vendors, and take part in other activities related to survival and emergency preparedness. Attendees can participate in presentations covering topics such as obtaining water, alternative energy, survival training, food preparation, CCW, self-defense, and much more from top notch (some nationally known) speakers and instructors. There will also be door prizes, product samples, and demonstrations.
Due to their exposure on shows like National Geographic Channel’s Doomsday Preppers, The Today Show, The Steve Harvey Show, Access Hollywood Live, CNN, Sky News, and numerous major domestic and international radio, print, and online outlets, Jay and Ryan are able to draw many attendees and media as well. In the past EC PREPCON has been covered by local media outlets, Sky News, Ted Koppel, and many other main stream and preparedness related groups.
