New Jersey --(Ammoland.com)- A Pandemonium inducing podcast of pandemic proportions, without the propaganda!

Words of Wisdom:

The right of self-defense is the first law of nature; in most governments it has been the study of rulers to confine this right within the narrowest possible limits. … and [when] the right of the people to keep and bear arms is, under any color or pretext whatsoever, prohibited, liberty, if not already annihilated, is on the brink of destruction.” ~St. George Tucker

Pandemonium!

Fake Gun Store in New York

It appears that a gun store opened up in New York City, well not really… The premise here was to open a gun store, apparently stocked with lookalike movie props, and when customers showed up to buy shame them into changing their minds!

This feels like a pretty desperate move for antis. For instance, they stationed this store in New York City, an already really anti-gun place.

Second, in the best case scenario what could they prove? That a person would chose to not buy a gun… in a fake gun store… without any guns. It’s simply ludicrous!

By the way, the Washington Post story quotes Leah “No such think as a law-abiding gun owner” Gunn Barrett, whose group had a role in planning this. You might remember her as Scott Bach’s debate opponent from early this year.

Update: It seems the NYSRPA is calling for investigation into this fake store.

Your Deputized!

I keep coming back to this topic of how we model grassroots advocacy for the Second Amendment here in New Jersey. I remain convinced that the answer isn’t in devising the perfect Gun Rights Group. I think there are some simple things that we can do as we develop our capacity as a community. First, this whole notion is premised on not waiting for leaders to do the work for us.

Grassroots means the movement starts with the people, that’s where the energy is. As a result, I think it is important that we distinguish between larger institutions vs smaller advocacy organizations. The larger institutions require too much effort to react nimbly to events. That responsibility, if it exists, has to be born by individual advocates and smaller organizations.

If you need to hear it, You Are Deputized! I’m charging you with doing something Pro-2A. Send a letter, submit a comment, take someone shooting. I know you have heard all this before, but this is where the action is. We need to create those one on one opportunities to shape someone’s opinion.

Finally, I saw some great examples of guys doing pro-2a stuff on their own, and I think they should be recognized.

Mark Cheeseman – Posting links directly to pending Pro2A legislation

Jack Pyle – Writing letter templates for others to add their info on and send for the “Citizens Protection Act”
