A pest is an organism with a characteristic of damaging or harming agriculture through feeding on crops or damage household articles. The common household pests live in, invade household structure, or act as disease vector causing serious health threats. Some of the common pests found in the house are ants, aphids, bed bugs, bees, cockroaches, beetles, woodworms, weevils, centipedes, earthworms, fleas, slugs, crickets, and different types of flies, moths, spiders, termites, ticks, wasps and many more.

Pest control refers to effective management of pests in order to protect person’s health, the ecology or the economy. Effective pest control requires proper knowledge about the pest, identifying the pest.

Why there is need for pest control?

Pest control is essential in order to protect your and your family’s health and your home from the harmful pests. Pest control is used to manage and destroy pests.   • There have been many reports about losses caused due to pests. Rodents eat up nearly one fourth of the world’s food supply. They also chew up the wiring of electricity leaving exposed wires everywhere.

  • Cockroaches are also creating major health risks. They have allergens that many people are allergic to. One of the major reasons for asthma is cockroach allergen. Apart from this, they carry various bacteria and pathogens that can make you sick.

The issue of pest control has existed since beginning of civilization and to date, it is important to manage pests. Various factors determine where the infestation will take place. However, pests are always looking for a location that will give them food, water and shelter and your bug out location and food storage is like a high dollar vacation resort for them. With latest technologies coming up, it is possible to use pest control methods that are toxic only to pests while keeping humans and their belongings safe.
