It not only stops bleeding, but it sanitizes and heals (sometimes without scaring). Although there are less painful ways to stop bleeding.

Sure, putting capsaicin in an open wound sounds like a great idea. Maybe even less painful than sealing a wound with a red hot poker.

Cook I’ve done this. Yes, it has a bit of a sting, but so do antiseptics.
I use it when trimming the dogs nails for when I trim too close. Stops the bleeding right away.
Coffee is best. It burns as much as pouring alcohol on a cut. But more effective. It stops the bleeding
One function of bleeding is to clean the wound, so staunching bleeding too quickly can leave contaminents bleeding would remove.
I will stick to raw honey, stopped the bleeding when I cut my thumb near in half and blood was Spurting out with every heartbeat. I doubt cayenne could do that.
