AGI Announces Hands-On Gunsmithing Course on Colt Revolvers

Napa, Calif. (Ammoland.com)American Gunsmithing Institute (AGI), producers of the most authoritative Gunsmithing DVD courses, is pleased to offer gunsmiths and students a Design, Function and Repair: Colt® Revolver class with Master Gunsmith Bob Dunlap. The course, to be held from June 15 through 19, 2015, is open to current AGI Professional Gunsmithing students only. Students must have successfully completed the Handguns section of the course prior to registration.

This AGI instructor-led course consists of approximately one-third lecture and two-thirds hands on experience. The course content covers most aspects of the Colt® revolver’s design, function, repairing and tuning. Each student will need to bring a Colt® D, I or E frame gun. An I frame gun (Python) is the preferred gun. Students should also bring a punch set, screw drivers, files, including a set of needle files, stones, eye protection, dial caliper, lubricant, a propane torch or a MAP GAS torch and a small ball peen hammer (2 oz. is preferred; no larger than 4 oz.). Students will also need an old half round file approximately 1” wide that can be turned into a new tool.

Dunlap spent 20 years as the Senior Instructor at Lassen College’s internationally recognized Gunsmithing School, all while maintaining a fully staffed gun shop.  In Dunlap’s long illustrious career, he has been personally responsible for the repair of over 250,000 firearms. Truly an expert in the field, he possesses a unique teaching style that enables him to take complex firearms and make them easier for students to understand.
