West Virginia -(Ammoland.com)- West Virginia Division of Natural Resources Director Robert Fala has presented letters of promotion to three new district captains of the DNR Law Enforcement Section. Their appointments became effective Monday, March 16, 2015.
Captain William “Bill” Persinger, Jr. – District 1
William A. Persinger has been an officer with the DNR Law Enforcement Section for more than 25 years. Capt. Persinger has served as a field officer in Ohio and Nicholas counties. He was promoted to the ranks of sergeant on March 1, 2002, lieutenant on April 16, 2009, and captain on Jan. 17, 2011. He took a voluntary demotion to the rank of lieutenant on May 16, 2013, to serve as the state procurement officer.
As captain, he will be responsible for the performance, maintenance and discipline of all Law Enforcement Section personnel assigned to Farmington-based District 1, which includes Hancock, Brooke, Ohio, Marshall, Wetzel, Monongalia, Marion, Preston, Harrison, Taylor, Barbour and Tucker counties.
Captain Woodrow “Woody” W. Brogan – District 4
Woodrow “Woody” Brogan has been an officer with the DNR Law Enforcement Section for more than 19 years. Captain Brogan has served as an officer in McDowell, Summers and Raleigh counties. He was promoted to the rank of sergeant on Oct. 26, 2007, and served as the District 4 Regional Training Officer. On May 1, 2011, he was promoted to lieutenant for District 3 and reassigned to District 4 on July 16, 2011.
As captain, he will be responsible for the performance, maintenance and discipline of all Law Enforcement Section personnel assigned to Beckley-based District 4, which includes Fayette, Raleigh, Greenbrier, Wyoming, McDowell, Mercer, Summers and Monroe counties.
Captain Douglas “Doug” A. Benson – District 3
Douglas Benson has been an officer with the DNR Law Enforcement Section for more than 26 years. Captain Benson has served as an officer in Jefferson and Upshur counties. He was promoted to the ranks of sergeant on July 16, 2005, and lieutenant for District 3 on Nov. 1, 2011.
As captain, he will be responsible for the performance, maintenance and discipline of all Law Enforcement Section personnel assigned to French Creek-based District 3, which includes Lewis, Upshur, Randolph, Braxton, Clay, Nicholas, Webster, Randolph and Pocahontas counties.
