DeKalb, Illinois – Reed Snyder and James bring you this week’s edition of the AR-15 Podcast. Episode 143 covers a perennial topic of conversation among enthusiasts of intermediate cartridge sporting rifles–where does the AK fit in a seemingly AR world? No discussion of the famed Kalashnikov would be proper without discussing its origins in the old Soviet empire. Reed and James cover some interesting history before getting into the various types of AK, its variants, and of course an overview of the governing laws concerning these rifle types.
Some of the main topic include the comparisons of manufacturers, and also how it differs from its famous rival. Reed and James also discuss ammunition, costs, modularity, accessories, and the age old bona fides of the AKs legendary reliability.
