Are you a libertarian?
So most of us tend to consider ourselves part of a political party and I would take that one step further to say that most readers of this blog are Republicans. We want less government, less taxes, and fewer handouts. We want people who can work to work and we believe that welfare (or whatever you want to call government handouts) is not really helping people but rather a way to control people. It’s a way that allows the government to take from the producers and control the masses.
At no point in history has any government made the poor richer by taking from the wealthy. In fact by taking from the wealthy to give to the poor (I use this term loosely) you just de-incentivize the wealthy to try to produce. Think about it, if the harder you work, the more they take, it just makes you want to stop trying. This is no way to grow a productive society.
So maybe it’s a good time to look at what your beliefs are and what they are based on. Are you happy with your elected officials? I don’t mean the ones from the opposite party but the ones from your party. Have they lived up to their promises? Are you better off now that they are in office? Are you in a better place than before they were in office? Well quite honestly if you can’t answer yes to most of those questions, then maybe its time to change who you vote for that better represents your views. Hey, if you are happy then stay the course but if you are not then lets look at the libertarian party views and see how they match up with your views.
What does a libertarian believe in? Here are some of the basics.
Well, I can’t tell you how many of these things you agree with but I bet some of you agree with some of these and if you agree with most or all of these the “you might be a libertarian” as the saying goes.
If you would like to read more about the Libertarian party and how you can get involved, they have a web page at www.lp.org and on the page you can read more and see what your beliefs are. So what is your opinion about your party or the Libertarian party? We would love to hear your comments below.
