Wisconsin Trapping Certifications

Madison, WI -(Ammoland.com)- Greetings current and future trappers and Trapper Ed instructors,
The new licensing system Go Wild is successfully operating with few to no problems in the trapping department. However, one change that the licensing system administered was the termination of Trapper Ed Certification and Trapper Ed Instructor Certification cards. These cards will no longer be sent through the mail after completion of the course or apprenticeship period.
However, law still stands that a trapper must hold proof of Trapper Ed certification while on the trapline. New trappers or trappers who have misplaced their Trapper Ed certification card must print off proof of certification under “reprint documents” in their Go Wild homepage or have vendor do so for them.
Instructors will be provided identification badges in the fall/winter of 2016 to take place of the cards. Identification badges will have the instructor’s picture and instructor number on it. Pictures will be taken at the WCTEP booth at the Fall Rendezvous in Marshfield from September 9th-11th. Those instructors who cannot make the rendezvous are asked to submit headshot pictures with a plain backdrop to Jenna Kosnicki at [email protected]. Beginning Jan. 1, 2017, instructors will be not allowed to work with students without identification badges. Replacement badges are handled through Jenna if/when needed.
