You cant safely carry a firearm around police. It just is not possible. Believe me i tried. It went like this sir before i hand you my registration i am informing you i have my firearm with me today. At that point they man handle you out of your vehicle and since they like the firearm you own they make up a charge to put it in their possession. In nazi usa citizens can own or carry firearms even with a permit. Believe me i learned the hard way. If they cant take it because its legal they will charge you with a crime you didnt commit and take it anyway.
