(AmmoLand.com) Shooting at long ranges is often required when hunting for a wide variety of big game animals. Although many hunters can successfully shoot in perfect conditions, dealing with wind at extreme distances creates a unique challenge. At the 45th Annual SCI Hunters’ Convention February 1-4, 2017, in Las Vegas, long range shooting expert Aaron Davidson will be conducting a seminar titled, Long Range Shooting – Dealing with the Wind.
Davidson is known for his years of experience in the art of long range shooting. He has helped develop several products and techniques that can help the average marksman improve their shooting ability.
With the right rifle, scope and rangefinder, correcting for bullet drop becomes very simple, even routine. However, long range shooting with wind still requires tremendous amounts of practice and practical experience to evaluate. This seminar will discuss how wind deflects the bullet when shooting long range. Ballistics fundamentals, rules of thumb, and advanced corrections will be discussed. Attendees will leave this seminar with real tools and techniques that they can use to be successful this fall.
The seminar will be held on February 3, 2017, from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. in the Lagoon A meeting room of the Mandalay Bay Convention Center on Level 2.
