If you’ve ever done any camping with a tarp, you may have run into times when you wish you had more grommet holes or some way to attach to a certain place on your tarp…
One thing people have done is tied rocks or small pebbles using something like a clove hitch or slip knot. I’ve found this to be a less desirable way to accomplish the task. For two reasons: if you’re using a small tarp, tying a rock in just a few places can quickly shrink up your tarp, in turn providing you with less surface area for shelter. Another reason I don’t like tying rocks is the cordage puts stress on the tarp that can ruin a nice high dollar tarp.

This is one of those skills that may just come in handy one day. I now make these and keep a few in there with my cordage pouch…
