LARAMIE, WY –-(Ammoland.com)- BP Lower 48, a leading producer of oil and gas, continues platinum-level sponsorship for the 2017 Wyoming Women’s Antelope Hunt. BP has supported the hunt and the goals of the Wyoming Women’s Foundation since the event’s inception in 2013.

Through its Lower 48 business, BP is one of the largest natural gas producers in Wyoming, with major operations anchored in the south-central part of the state at the Wamsutter field. The Wamsutter field is one of America’s premier reservoirs of so-called “tight gas,” or gas found in extremely dense rock formations. BP’s Wyoming operations support approximately 150 full time jobs and approximately 825 contract positions. The company has strong ties to the people of Wyoming.

Laura Leffler, Chief of Staff with BP Lower 48, explained that the company is to committed to strengthening women in today’s world by supporting organizations that make a positive and lasting difference. As a long-term partner with Wyoming, BP is excited to participate in a meaningful program that enhances the inclusive and uplifting culture of the state. Leading the way as the first event of its kind for women, the Wyoming Women’s Antelope Hunt now is in its fifth year and has raised more than $280,000 for grants and special projects that help carry out its mission.

“BP Lower 48 is proud to renew our platinum-level sponsorship for the 2017 Wyoming Women’s Antelope Hunt. The event’s success and impact for Wyoming women and girls and truly inspirational,” said Leffler.

This year’s hunt will be held Oct. 12-15, 2017 and bring together at least 40 female hunters from across the nation at the Ranch at Ucross in northeast Wyoming for a weekend of hunting, learning, mentorship and camaraderie, as well as raising funds and awareness for the Wyoming Women’s Foundation.
