In Effect – Commie Holiday Observed in Alexandria City Schools!
Since March 7 is a minor holiday for me (47 years ago there was a solar eclipse in the US and even Virginia in Hampton Roads area) I forgot about the commie holiday that occurs on the next day – March 8 – (Here’s the general info on it and some follow up) but the general strike by women to protest – I am honestly not sure what – some sort of grievance – reminded me – that’s why. (Look at the Google logo today, too!)
Let’s first ponder what is going on: A political labor stoppage in the United States. It is unusual. It ought to have been stopped in its tracks.
But not in Alexandria City Schools apparently. Yes our Alexandria in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Here is an article I found at Townhall (hat tip to Matt Vespa) and confirmed right at the Alexandria City Schools website.
Alexandria City’s 15,200 students won’t have to go to school tomorrow because their teachers are going to participate in “A Day Without A Woman” protests, which is being organized by the same folks who mobilized the Women’s March during inauguration weekend. Alexandria public schools said that they didn’t have enough substitute teachers to fill the 300 leave requests from teachers, according to WJLA, a local ABC News outlet. Only one-third of those posts could have been filled. As such, out of safety for the children, the entire school district is about to undergo a total and complete shut down…for the day.
I am amazed that the executives in the school district who probably earn a gazillion dollars a year (Where is Bernie Sanders when you need him – to complain about public sector salary disparity?) could not have stopped this – insisted on doctor’s notes and also discipline those found to be out on strike. Voters in Alexandria ought to insist on action to be taken – or the city will be held hostage to whatever real or imagined grievance – Trump is STILL President? Let’s strike! – radicals can think up.
So what do we have? A Virginia jurisdiction has unofficially, but de facto for sure, observing the commie holiday International Women’s Day by closing the schools! Outrageous.
