Sorry, we did all we could! I was here when we defeated ERA in 1973, 1975, 1977 and on the ballot in 1978 by 68%. It has been very painful for me.
Nevada’s Assembly passed SJR2 the so-called Equal Rights Amendment for final passage today. Of course, it makes no difference that the deadline was in 1982. 27 Democrats plus 1 Republican voted Yes and 14 Republicans voted NO. In the Senate, which passed it first there were 12 Democrats plus 1 Non-Partisan who caucuses with the Dems and one Republican voting Yes and eight Republican voting NO.
Now you must continue to check with your Legislature for any introduction of ERA. They have a Three State Strategy claiming that Congress can accept the ratifications 35 years late.
Here is a copy of Nevada’s bill which will be duplicated around the nation for the 15 states who never passed ERA. I have other resources I used here when you need them.
15 States that never passed ERA are targeted now for passage:
Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Utah, Virginia and Nevada.
Let’s block ads! (Why?)
