The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.
Sgt. Erik N. May, 26, of Independence, Kan., died July 14, in Ghazni province, Afghanistan.  May was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 16th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kan.
