I just wanted to share my thoughts on the attitudes on the war on terror and conspiracy theorists.
Why is it that only the conspiracy theorists are called “paranoid?”
While it may be true for some, the same could be said for those who support the war, who support the loss of liberty and sacrifice everything to win that war – even if the sacrifice turns the free world in to a nightmare of it’s former self.
That of course, is the goal of terrorism all along.
While it is a governments role to keep up safe, it should do so as far as the will of the people allows.
I don’t want to get into any conspiracy theory in this story, just that we should put all that aside and not let fear/ paranoia make the best of us.
It is fear/paranoia that allows the NSA to spy on us, fear/paranoia that allowed the NDAA, Patriot Act, and countless other laws stripping away our rights to freedom and happiness.
When will it end? Will there ever be a time that we aren’t afraid of something? How much of our humanity will we sacrifice to not feel fear?
We need to be brave, with our eyes open.
Conspiracy or not, we must realise the greatest irony of our time – that we must sacrifice our freedoms because the terrorists hate our freedoms. Of course if we do – the terrorists, whoever they are, will win.
Bravery and awareness – not fear and hatred – must prevail.
