A high-level staffer with the Atlanta Mayor’s Office resigned Tuesday after being arrested on suspicion of DUI, Channel 2 Action News reports.
Stacii Johnson, 41, was pulled over last week while driving a Porsche on loan from a Porsche event Johnson had attended. The arresting officer smelled alcohol coming from Johnson’s window. When approached by the officer, Johnson apparently tried to throw her weight around a bit as a high-level staffer.
“I asked the driver for her driver’s license, and she handed both her license and a business card,” the officer noted in a police report, according to Channel 2. “Her business card identified her as special events director for the city of Atlanta.”
Apparently the officer wasn’t impressed because he ordered Johnson to step out of the car. According to the officer, it took several requests before Johnson left her car.
She then refused to submit to a field sobriety test and struggled with the officer as he tried to arrest her. Stacii Johnson is now facing DUI charges for the incident.
In Georgia, it’s illegal to drive with a blood alcohol concentration of .08 percent or greater. If Johnson is found guilty of the DUI charge, she could face a fine of up to $1,000, a prison sentence of 10 days to 12 months, and at least 40 hours of community service. However, having to resign from her job was probably the worst penalty she’ll face.
On top of the DUI charge, Johnson could face penalties for violating the state’s implied consent law. Any person who drives in Georgia gives implied consent to a breath, blood, or urine test, if suspected of DUI. Refusing to submit to a test will get your license suspended for at least 12 months. That’s a longer suspension period than you’d get for many DUI offenses in the state. If found guilty, Johnson probably won’t be driving for a while.
This isn’t Stacii Johnson’s first time in the headlines. In May, Channel 2 Action News exposed a video produced by and starring Johnson, titled “I Want to Strip for My Man But I Don’t Know How … Unleashing the Naughty Girl In You!” She also appeared the 1997 Bill Bellamy vehicle “How to Be a Player.”
