Graphic scenes, and sounds, of Police brutality have emerged on Youtube and Livestream today showing Greater Manchester Police assaulting a cameraman at an ongoing peaceful ecological demonstration in Manchester.
A cameraman and Legal Observer at the contravercial Barton Moss Anti Fracking camp, Kris O’Donnel, was hospitalised after being brutally and, what appears to be unlawfully, detained during the afternoon of January 20th 2014.
Chilling video and sound footage has come to light of Mr O’Donnel pleading with Police not to kick and punch him any more after he brought to the attention of no less than 5 police officers, INCLUDING A CHIEF INSPECTOR the fact that lorries, delivering loads to the proposed fracking site in Barton Moss, were using illegal Vehicle Registration Plates, contrary to the Road Traffic Act. The completely unproportionate use of force on Mr O’Donnel came moments after he confronted, directly, the Chief Inspector over his teams failure to act upon his report of the crime. Every officer Mr O’Donnel approached ignored his request that the driver of the HGV vehicle be stopped and questioned regarding his illegal vehicle registration number plate.
This 13 minute video show the run up to the ‘detention’ of Mr O’Donnel, and furthermore shows that he in no way was acting unlawfully, nor in an obstructive manner before hand. It ends with Mr O’Donnel pleading with the several officers not to further injure his weakened leg. A leg that was then, allegedly, deliberately and violently swept from underneath him.

Mr O’Donnel will remain in Salford Royal Infirmary whilst his multiple injuries, including a BROKEN EYE SOCKET are treated but, at this time and incredulously, he still remains under arrest.
Mr O’Donnel, who has been documenting activities at Barton Moss Fracking Site since the beginning is a seasoned livestream reporter who has covered many demonstrations since Occupy London and prides himself on remaining within the Law.
Calls for the Chief Inspector to resign were mounting today after the publication of images of Mr O’Donnel’s injuries. It is well known that should the police NEED to use force, and in this case they clearly DIDN’t, then it must be, by law, REASONABLE and JUSTIFIED.and, again, in this case it wasn’t. On those grounds alone, the resignation of the Chief Inspector on scene is the MINIMUM requirement that the people of the UK insist on.
The above image taken directly from the live stream footage shows the condition of Mr O’Donnel as he was placed in the police vehicle.
By comparison the footage below, shows the incredible tolerance shown by the DEMONSTRATORS at Barton Moss in the face of UNLAWFUL snatch processes.
“When questioned about the Violence used on peaceful protesters , i was told ” well the Protesters are the violent ones , shouting and swearing , by the EG from GMP”
This is looking to be more and more the case with peaceful protesters clocking up a range of injuries at the hands of GMP’s Thug’s Are Us team. Below is a short clip showing the UNLAWFUL tactics being used by GMP at Barton Moss on people exercising their DEMOCRATIC RIGHT TO PEACEFUL PROTEST Peaceful protesters stated that the whole point of being peaceful in their protests were being undermined by the aggressive tactics of the Tactical Assault Unit and looking at these videos, it is easy to understand how.
It is WHOLLY unacceptable for the bones of peaceful protesters to be broken, much less to be caught on video, as the below video shows. It is clear that these orders to inflict injuries come from the very top of Government, from a man who is going ‘all out for shale’.
Well, let me be clear Mr Cameron. The UK does NOT want fracking in this country, and the people of the UK are making that decidedly clear. No amount of violence from the establishment will cause them to waver.
Breaking the legs of the elderly and smashing the eye sockets of legal observers will not stop the protest. Only a U turn on fracking in the UK will do that.
Scores of supporters are expected to descend on Barton Moss, in the coming weeks,in a show of solidarity with the protectors starting this Sunday. Details of transport and pick up points can be found in the below image.
Below you will find footage of a peaceful protester receiving a broken leg at the hands of Greater Manchester Police.
Much more of this sort of behaviour and the Police Services of the Uk may just find themselves on the recieving end of a Ukraine style backlash. GMP, the Police Services of the UK, Teresa May, and especially David Cameron, should bear that in mind.
Greater Manchester Police issued the following statement:
“Greater Manchester Police is aware of the footage relating to yesterday’s arrest and this has now been passed to GMP’s Professional Standards Branch. Officers are also looking into allegations that a lorry attending the site had an unlawful number plate. Enquiries are ongoing.”
Now that the footage has been passed to The Professional Standards Branch, action against these thugs must not only be taken, it must be SEEN to be taken. No whitewash in this matter will be accepted.
