(Before It's News)

The past crossed the present for Dickinson Law firm this month.

Jennifer Hodge, an attorney in the firm’s Davenport, Iowa office, recently became a member of the Illinois State Bar Association. When she was sworn in, the judge she stood before was Helen Adams, who worked as an attorney at Dickinson Law for 19 years before joining the legal department of Pioneer Hi-Bred International in 2009.

Adams last fall was named as a new United States Magistrate Judge for the Southern District of Iowa upon the retirement of Magistrate Judge Thomas J. Shields. She had a distinguished career as a trial lawyer with Dickinson Law, specializing in employment law, and served repeated terms on the firm’s board of directors and as president.

Hodge, who worked with Adams for seven years, said she was thrilled to have crossed paths with her again.

“It was a very special moment,” said Hodge, who has a general practice that includes business law, real estate law and estate planning.
