New Cruise Ships 2017From small to large and everything in between, here are the best new ships for 2017.

Viking Sky

Setting Sail: February 2017
Capacity: 930

This will be the third ship of the Viking Ocean Cruises’ fleet. It will feature unlimited use of the ship’s thermal suite. Guests can also enjoy the Aquavit Terrace and the promenade. Travelers will get to enjoy long days in port as well as overnights. There will also be a lot of freebies such as complimentary Wi-Fi, a variety of free shore excursions and complimentary beer and wine during lunch and dinner. All of the cabins will have balconies as well.

Norwegian Joy

Setting Sail: Spring 2017
Capacity: 4,200

This ship will be the same size as the Norwegian Cruise Line Escape. It will be in Asia full time with home ports in Shanghai and Tianjin. There will be 29 restaurants onboard and this ship will really cater to those with children with a two-story waterslide and a new area called Galaxy Pavilion that will have virtual reality simulators and games.

Silver Muse

Setting Sail: Spring 2017
Capacity: 596

This ship, the Silver Muse, will feature all-suite accommodations and will be the largest in the Silversea’s fleet. Overall the ship will have a luxurious feel to it. There will be 8 restaurants onboard, but no main dining room. The Silver Muse will cruise to a variety of places like Africa, South America and Canada. Guests can enjoy things like a spa, theatre, fitness center and an observation lounge.

National Geographic Quest

Setting Sail: June 2017
Capacity: 100 passengers

This is the first of 2 new ships for National Geographic Expeditions.  The National Geographic Quest will sail in Alaska and the Pacific Northwest before relocating to Costa Rica and Panama.

Viking Sun

Setting Sail: October 2017
Capacity: 930

This will be the fourth ship in the fleet and will be almost identical to the other three ships. During its maiden season, it will offer a world cruise that’s 141 days long and visits five continents. This itinerary includes Auckland, Singapore and Sydney. The ship will have an expanded gym, a complimentary excursion in every port, self-service laundry and free Wi-Fi.

Majestic Princess

Setting Sail: Summer 2017
Capacity: 3,560

This ship will be based year-round in China. The design of the Majestic Princess is similar to the Regal Princess and Royal Princess, but it does have a Chinese flair to it. The ship will have outside cabins with balconies, a multi-story atrium, Movies Under The Stars and a glass walkway called the SeaWalk.
