Harry Coumnas is a wilderness photographer and a mountain climber. Born and raised in Rome, Harry started mountain climbing as a hobby that soon turned into a passion. He was introduced to the wilderness at a very young age and began climbing the mountains when he was merely twelve years old. For the next 48 years, he climbed a number of mountains and explored the wilderness.
Harry Coumnas has climbed many new routes and explored little-known regions on the seven continents. He was a part of the first Italian expedition that succeeded in ascending to the summit of K2. It is the second highest mountain in the world; and is known for the inherent dangerous climbing, a long segment of rock and ice, and unstable, overhanging serac. He has also climbed the Everest, Kilimanjaro, Kanchenjunga , Mount McKinley, and many other challenging mountain peaks. As he climbed these peaks, he took pictures of every moment to capture it in his lens forever. Today, he has a collection of more than a million photographs of him climbing the dangerous mountain peaks.

Harry Coumnas was born on August 4, 1932 in Rome, Italy. He developed interest in exploring wilderness at a very young age, and often went to treks and expeditions with his father. Harry is also a wilderness photographer who started his career with a small project for National Geographic channel. With his first cover story success, he landed many big projects to take pictures on excursions into the wild.
